Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker OST and Heaven's Divide Maxi Single

Let me just say this. EMS is flipping fast. Got the shipping details in my email just yesterday and before I even know it, the lovely package arrives this afternoon.

Well, now that the music of Peace Walker is in my crummy asian hands, I must say that I find the music to be quite nostalgic. It reminds me a lot of Snake Eater. The theme song is pure epic and Heaven’s Divide feels so emotional. Listening to it just keeps me incredibly excited for the game itself, which hits retailers June 8 in North America. I’m totally gunning for the Big Boss Bundle, by the way.

Words cannot describe my excitement here! Ok I’m kidding, but I’m still super hyped for this game and, from the looks of the trailer, there’s plenty of new additions to look forward to! Duets with other Vocaloids, the use of the D-pad and possibly other buttons besides the face buttons and of course, a slew of new songs to enjoy. The visuals have also improved and there doesn’t seem to be any lag, which the first one suffers from on occasion.

The game’s out July 29th this year and will retail for ¥6090.

Panasonic's RP-HTX7, retro designs call for retro photos!

Due to the incredibly mysterious phenomena of earphones bricking, specifically the right ear piece, as of late – both my Sennheiser’s and back-up Sony in-ear buds decided to kick the bucket, or at least the right side did – I promptly went around looking for a pair of headphones this time around, instead of earphones which I usually use for outdoorsy purposes.

I was kinda torn between the new Sony MDR-570LP’s, which were pretty sweet looking with the brushed metal furnish and uber flat design, and the Panasonic RP-HTX7′s, which I eventually settled with because retro designs are incredibly hard to resist. Anyway, reviews were kinda mixed for the Sony headphones with some saying it has a great audio range for it’s $72 SGD price tag, while others thought it wasn’t that great. However, the Panasonic ones were only about 10 bucks more expensive and the shop had a 25% discount tagged to it, which helped expedite my decision. I would’ve gone for a pair of Sennheiser’s but the shop didn’t have the ones I was looking for.

Anyway, the RP-HTX7 are super comfortable and I’ve never experienced my music with such crisp clarity before, especially piano tracks. Lovely stuff.
