More from Taiwan! So the second day took us to the place where the Queen’s Head is located, as well as Ocean World. It was quite entertaining, so many tourists were queuing up just to take a photo with the Queen’s Head and they even got into heated arguments. Lovely shite. The Ocean World performance was quite lacklustre, but still entertaining nonetheless. After lunch, the tour guide then led us to an antique town build on top of a hill. Plenty of shopping to be done there.
Been meaning to do something like this for a while now! I’ve been so hooked onto Hatsune Miku: Project Diva for the PSP lately, one of the few games I played while I was in Taiwan. I’ve managed to get Perfect on a couple of songs including this one, World is Mine, The Secret Garden and Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru! Super fun, I’m really looking forward to Project Diva 2 come this July.
Next part of the Taiwan trip will be up shortly, just sorting through the photos.
Well the trip to Taiwan was pretty exciting! The first 2 weeks and a bit were spent in a certain somewhere doing a certain something which cannot be disclosed to the public so feel free to let your imaginations run wild! Perhaps it was crabbing, maybe tight-rope walking or even launching a super secret battleship into the fabrics of the space time continuum!…
Ok no, none of that happened, I assure you it was a lot more mundane in comparison to the battleship thing but definitely more fun than crabbing…to a degree. The first bit was rather boring and involved more than enough sleep during the day, maybe too much. But the last few days were exciting and super fun, lots of laughs and adrenaline involved.
Posting this from the free internet access terminals at Singapore Changi Airport at the moment, got about 10 minutes before my flight and 5 minutes left on the terminal ticker. Enjoying a lovely Mocha Frappucino to get my sugar levels up.
Anyway, I’ll be sure to take lots of photos so check you guys in about a month’s time. See ya all.
Alrighty so I think I’ll start doing a weekly photo post! The first one up is of myself, somewhat, chilling out on a lovely Sunday Morning. Did a little bit of post-processing work in Photoshop what with the addition of the vignette and some colour alterations.
Hm I guess this is pretty bad timing on my part too though, since I’ll be away in Taiwan for the next 3 weeks. However, I’ll be sure to take plenty of photos there to share with everyone!
Let me just say this. EMS is flipping fast. Got the shipping details in my email just yesterday and before I even know it, the lovely package arrives this afternoon.
Well, now that the music of Peace Walker is in my crummy asian hands, I must say that I find the music to be quite nostalgic. It reminds me a lot of Snake Eater. The theme song is pure epic and Heaven’s Divide feels so emotional. Listening to it just keeps me incredibly excited for the game itself, which hits retailers June 8 in North America. I’m totally gunning for the Big Boss Bundle, by the way.
Words cannot describe my excitement here! Ok I’m kidding, but I’m still super hyped for this game and, from the looks of the trailer, there’s plenty of new additions to look forward to! Duets with other Vocaloids, the use of the D-pad and possibly other buttons besides the face buttons and of course, a slew of new songs to enjoy. The visuals have also improved and there doesn’t seem to be any lag, which the first one suffers from on occasion.
The game’s out July 29th this year and will retail for ¥6090.
Due to the incredibly mysterious phenomena of earphones bricking, specifically the right ear piece, as of late – both my Sennheiser’s and back-up Sony in-ear buds decided to kick the bucket, or at least the right side did – I promptly went around looking for a pair of headphones this time around, instead of earphones which I usually use for outdoorsy purposes.
I was kinda torn between the new Sony MDR-570LP’s, which were pretty sweet looking with the brushed metal furnish and uber flat design, and the Panasonic RP-HTX7′s, which I eventually settled with because retro designs are incredibly hard to resist. Anyway, reviews were kinda mixed for the Sony headphones with some saying it has a great audio range for it’s $72 SGD price tag, while others thought it wasn’t that great. However, the Panasonic ones were only about 10 bucks more expensive and the shop had a 25% discount tagged to it, which helped expedite my decision. I would’ve gone for a pair of Sennheiser’s but the shop didn’t have the ones I was looking for.
Anyway, the RP-HTX7 are super comfortable and I’ve never experienced my music with such crisp clarity before, especially piano tracks. Lovely stuff.
‘Tis a quick grunge illustration of the Belgium-made General Purpose Machine Gun I drew up for a friend of mine. It takes 7.62 rounds, nasty things that have quite the penetrating force. Weighs roughly 10kg, the barrel itself being 3kg. Here’s a fun fact, all the MG gunners, myself included, had to dismount and lug this beast for about 8km during a warm up exercise in Rockhampton, Australia. Fun times.
Update:
Did some plastic surgery to her manly jaw as kindly pointed out by my good friend.
Ugh I just couldn’t resist the urge to draw something for myself! Lately it’s just been a crap load of work done for the army, freelance and designs for Gaming Union. I finally caved today and this is the result of all my pent up urges to just draw for fun.
This is Beatrix from the classic hit, Final Fantasy IX. I can’t recall the exact quote but I do believe it ran along the lines of “what is your duty?” A rather interesting scene where Beatrix, who had been loyal and obeyed every single order that Queen Brahne spat out, finally realized what her real purpose was as a knight – that is, to protect the Princess with her life. And in doing so, she turned against the Queen and joined Zidane, Steiner, Garnet and their merry band of misfits to save the world from certain destruction.
Good ol’ times, they don’t make Final Fantasies like that anymore.
